Local Taliban officials in Nangarhar say that 13 people have died and 19 others have been injured due to heavy rain and house roof collapses in the province.

Quraishi Badloon, the head of information at the Taliban’s Directorate of Information and Culture in Nangarhar province, said on Tuesday, April 7, that these incidents occurred over the past 24 hours.

According to him, the roof of a house in the “Angoor Bagh” area of Jalalabad city collapsed, killing five people and injuring two others.

He also added that a woman and three children died in Shirzad district of Nangarhar after the roof of their house collapsed.

In addition, one child and another person died in similar incidents in the Haska Mena and Shirzad districts of Nangarhar.

Yesterday, three women also died in Khost province after a wall collapsed.

The Taliban have announced that more than 100 people have died across the country over the past 12 days.
