UN Women has called on the Taliban to remove restrictions preventing female staff from entering its offices in Afghanistan.

This organization stated in a press release on Saturday, 7 March, that six months have passed since the ban on women entering UN offices in Afghanistan.

According to the statement, this ban is unprecedented in the UN’s 80-year history.

UN emphasized that without the presence of female staff, the delivery of aid faces challenges and access to women and girls would not be possible.

On International Women’s Day, the organization emphasized that it stands with the women of Afghanistan.

Taliban banned women from entering UN offices in Afghanistan six months ago and have subjected some women to harassment.
