Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, clarified that Iranian forces did not target economic and population centers in Israel. Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, April 14, as reported by the ISNA news agency, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized the precision of Iranian armed forces’ actions, utilizing guided drones and missiles. Tehran had notified neighboring and regional countries three days before the operations.
“We informed our regional allies 72 hours before the operation, asserting Iran’s response as a clear and legitimate defense. Therefore, we consider the security of our neighbors and the region as paramount to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s security,” he stressed. Iran launched approximately 300 drones and missiles into Israeli territory last night. In response, the Israeli army reported intercepting 99% of these aerial assets.
Earlier, Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, warned that any attacks on Iran’s interests, assets, or personalities from within its borders would face retaliation.
