Local sources report that the Taliban have detained three individuals, including a former government general, on charges of “membership in the Afghanistan Green Trend (AGT)” in Kabul city. Hasht-e Subh Daily confirmed that Taliban intelligence forces detained retired general Issa Khan and his son Najibullah on Saturday, April 20, from their home in Khairkhana, Kabul. Former General Issa Khan had a background in the National Directorate of Security (NDS) but retired several years ago. Additionally, the Taliban detained Khwaja Meer Mujahid, head of the Kabul Powerlifting Federation, around 10:00 AM on April 20, from his home in the Panjsad Family region, Khairkhana area of the capital.
Sources report Taliban intelligence forces forcibly took Mujahid from his home. All detained individuals are residents of Panjshir province living in Kabul.
While the Taliban have not officially commented, Abdul Hamid Khorasani, a commander of the “Badri 313 Battalion,” claimed on his X (formerly Twitter) page that he detained 35 members of the “Afghanistan Green Trend (AGT)”. However, sources state the detainees have no party affiliation but were detained for their “association with Amrullah Saleh,” the former Vice President of Afghanistan.
This comes as the Afghanistan Green Trend (AGT), led by Amrullah Saleh, recently disclosed documents revealing significant information about the Taliban, causing widespread reactions in the country’s media and social networks. These documents include lists of 58 intelligence apparatus leaders, 96 key Taliban Ministry of Interior commanders, Taliban-held helicopters and military aircraft, senior Ministry of Defense commanders’ identities, and a doubled budget for the ministry’s new year compared to the previous year.
