Amid rising temperatures, widespread power outages in Pul-e Khomri, the capital of Baghlan province, have caused numerous problems for residents of the city.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Saturday, August 8, that electricity has been repeatedly cut off in parts of Pul-e Khomri since the previous day.
They said that in some cases, residents have electricity for only about half an hour before facing power outages lasting three to four hours.
Continued power outages during the hot summer days have created greater difficulties, particularly for families, children, elderly people and patients.
Residents of Pul-e Khomri have called for the problem to be addressed immediately.
Afghanistan faces numerous challenges in the provision of electricity, and many parts of the country, particularly during the hot season and periods of increased consumption, experience power outages.
