Local sources in Maidan Wardak say that armed Kuchi tribesmen have shot and killed a man in the province.
Sources reported on Monday, 17 November, that the incident took place two days earlier in Qutu village of Daimirdad district, Maidan Wardak.
According to the sources, armed Kuchi tribesmen, accompanied by Taliban members, entered the village and opened fire on a family, injuring several others.
The victim of the shooting has been identified as Nowroz.
Sources also claim that similar attacks by armed Kuchi groups over the past two decades have led to the displacement of many residents of Qutu village.
According to available information, Nowroz’s family had returned to the village from Kabul two years ago due to poverty.
The Taliban have reportedly instructed residents not to publicize the incident.
Armed Kuchi tribesmen had previously killed another resident of Maidan Wardak as well.
