An explosion rocked the bustling city of Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, resulting in two fatalities and one individual sustaining injuries, as confirmed by local authorities.
The incident unfolded on Sunday, March 10, near the “Board Peshawar” market.
Abbas Khan, a spokesperson for the Peshawar police, shed light on the tragic event, stating, “The explosion occurred during the transportation of explosive materials. Three individuals were involved in the transportation, leading to the demise of two and leaving one critically injured.”
While no specific group has claimed responsibility for the blast at the time of reporting, it’s worth noting that the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been known to escalate attacks against Pakistani security forces in recent years.
This unfortunate incident follows a similar occurrence last year on December 6, when five students sustained injuries in a mine explosion near a school in Peshawar, underscoring the persistent threat of violence in the region.
