The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) says it has redirected 20 vessels as part of what it described as a maritime blockade on Iran.
In a post on X early on July 30, CENTCOM said that as of the previous day, it had disabled two vessels and inspected two others.
CENTCOM said U.S. military forces are strictly enforcing the maritime blockade on Iran.
The statement comes after Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters recently warned that any continuation of the U.S. maritime blockade would be regarded by Tehran as a continuation of the war.
The United States imposed the maritime blockade in response to Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz, according to the report.
