Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned the White House that Washington must choose between accepting Iran’s demands and continuing the war, following the results of the US midterm elections.
Tasnim News Agency reported on Sunday, November 8, that Araghchi said American voters had made their choice and it was now the White House’s turn to make a decision.
Araghchi stressed that Iran’s two-day proposal remained on the table and that the United States could see its results by accepting the demands outlined in it, including an end to the war on all fronts.
He added that if Washington chose war, Iran’s military forces were ready to respond on the battlefield.
In part of his message, Iran’s foreign minister said: “Choose war and see how our alert and well-trained fighters will rain down a hell of fire upon you on the battlefield.”
His remarks come as US President Donald Trump has said that a resumption of the war with Iran would be “very unlikely” if negotiations over Iran’s nuclear programme make progress and the Strait of Hormuz is reopened.
