A bomb blast in the southwestern region of Pakistan has resulted in the tragic loss of one life and inflicted injuries upon 14 others, as confirmed by a Pakistani police official.
As reported by the Associated Press, the detonation occurred on Saturday, March 30, within the Hernai area in the northeastern vicinity of Quetta, within the province of Balochistan.
Among the casualties are three soldiers who sustained injuries in the blast.
Javed Dumki, the deputy commissioner of Hernai, disclosed that the improvised explosive device was triggered during a gas exploration survey conducted by a team from the “Mari Petroleum Company.”
As of now, no organization has come forward to claim responsibility for the incident.
This explosion follows closely on the heels of another attack last Tuesday, wherein a vehicle carrying Chinese nationals fell prey to a remote-controlled bomb while traveling from Islamabad to a camp located in the Dasu area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
