The Afghanistan Freedom Front has claimed that clashes with Taliban fighters are continuing in Badakhshan province, and that its forces have inflicted heavy casualties on the group.
In a video statement released on Sunday, July 26, the front said that after causing heavy losses to the Taliban in “liberated areas” of Zebak district, Taliban fighters were forced to retreat.
The Freedom Front also claimed that as clashes continue, Taliban fighters have planted mines around their checkpoints in the district centre and are preparing to abandon their positions.
Earlier, the Afghanistan Freedom Front claimed that seven Taliban fighters were killed and six others wounded in a rocket attack on a Taliban military convoy traveling on the Kabul-Badakhshan route.
