In recent days, three shocking and horrifying incidents in the northeastern part of Afghanistan have sparked deep concerns among citizens. Kidnappers have removed the organs of a child in Badakhshan province and abandoned the body in a mountainous area. Meanwhile, in the Kunduz province, a man has beheaded his own child with a knife. Additionally, a Taliban fighter in Takhar province raped an 11-year-old girl and then killed her by stabbing her with a knife. These incidents have provoked widespread reactions and concerns among the people. So far, the Taliban have not taken any decisive action regarding these cases and have only claimed that they are investigating the matters.
The brutal murders of these children have reopened the deep wounds of the people of Afghanistan, with many citizens cursing those responsible for these crimes. While the Taliban consistently claim to ensure law and order in society, they have failed to prevent criminal activities. Human trafficking, child abduction, and other crimes have surged, and in some cases, members of the group themselves have been involved in kidnappings and murders of civilians.
The body of a six-year-old child was found in the Argo district of Badakhshan province after being missing for 45 days. Sources say the child, named Osman, was the son of Ustad Ahmad Jawid Olfat. He had disappeared on January 25 at around 11:00 a.m. from the second district of Wahdat city (near Hazrat Omar Farooq Mosque). According to sources, there had been no clues about the child’s whereabouts during this period.
Sources add that Osman’s mother suffered from psychological distress during this time and had recently traveled to Kabul for treatment but returned home without any results. A video showing the moment Osman’s body was transferred has been published, where the men carrying his body appear to tell his father not to cry and to remain patient.
Meanwhile, an eyewitness who saw the child’s body told the Hasht-e Subh Daily: “All his organs had been removed, but the exact location where this happened is unknown. His eyes were gouged out, and his heart and liver were taken. If an animal had eaten the body, his hands would have been damaged, and his body would have been torn apart, but all his body parts were intact. Only his face was damaged due to exposure to sunlight and rain, but the rest of his body remained unharmed.”
Additionally, local sources in Takhar province report that a Taliban member raped an 11-year-old girl and then killed her by stabbing her with a knife. Sources say the incident took place last week in the Siyab village of the Bangi district. They confirm that the suspect, named Naqibullah, is a resident of Mughal Qashlaq village in Bangi and a member of the Taliban.
On the other hand, local sources in Kunduz report that a father beheaded his three-year-old son with a sword in the Imam Sahib district of this province. The incident occurred on Friday morning in the Kharoti village of Imam Sahib district. Sources state that the child’s name was Mohammad Wali, and his father was named Abdul Ghaffar. Following the incident, the Taliban arrested Abdul Ghaffar, but the motive behind the killing remains unknown.
A social media user named Ishaq Ashouri wrote that removing and transferring the organs of this child without the cooperation of a specialist and advanced medical equipment would not have been possible. He emphasized that the Taliban’s investigative authorities could use this fact to identify those involved in the case.
Murtaza Rahimi, another user, referring to the Taliban’s militant past, wrote: “When someone has spent twenty years studying extremist religious teachings and has grown up with bloodshed, killing, and beheading, what do you expect from them? Do you really think they can bring peace and security?”
Amin Amani, in a Facebook post expressing sorrow over the murder of the Badakhshan child, wrote that even the jungle has its own laws. He added, “In nature, no lion tears apart another lion, and no leopard hunts its own kind. Even the most ferocious animals have boundaries they do not cross.”
These horrifying child murders occur at a time when, following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, poverty and hunger have significantly increased. Additionally, the level of crime and armed robberies has risen, causing deep concerns among citizens.
Many citizens believe that prolonged unemployment, persistent poverty, and the lack of job opportunities have led to an increase in domestic violence, thefts, and kidnappings in the country. They warn that if the current situation persists, people must take serious measures to protect their children.
