Lebanese security sources report that Israeli attacks in the country’s south have resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including a Hezbollah commander. Reuters disclosed on Tuesday, April 16, that the commander, identified as Ismail Baz, was killed in an Israeli strike on a vehicle near the town of Ain Ebel in southern Lebanon. The report indicates that Ismail led Hezbollah’s coastal unit and played a role in planning missile and anti-tank attacks on Israel.
Additionally, Hezbollah Lebanon acknowledged the commander’s death but did not offer further details. No information has been provided regarding the other two victims’ identities. According to Reuters, the longstanding conflicts between Hezbollah and Israel have claimed the lives of at least 370 Lebanese, comprising over 240 Hezbollah fighters and 68 civilians.
Conversely, these conflicts have led to the deaths of 18 Israelis, including both soldiers and civilians. These developments coincide with a significant escalation in tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv over the past 24 hours.
