Local sources in Kandahar Province have reported that fiber-optic internet has been cut off in the province.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Tuesday, September 16, that access to fiber-optic internet in Kandahar was disconnected at around 4 p.m. the previous day.
So far, no official statement has been issued regarding the shutdown of fiber-optic internet in the province.
This development comes after the Taliban on Monday confirmed the suspension of fiber-optic internet in Balkh Province, stating that the decision was made on the orders of the group’s leader and aimed at “protecting people from immoral behavior.”
Meanwhile, residents of Herat Province reported today that internet speed there has dropped significantly.
