The Taliban have reported a large fire in the Herat industrial park and said the blaze caused around 20 million Afghani in losses.
Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior, wrote on X on Saturday, June 20, that the fire broke out after 3 a.m.
Qani said the fire occurred at a paper and cardboard production factory in the second phase of the Herat industrial park.
He added that at least 20 million Afghani in damage was recorded from the fire, while goods worth 650 million Afghani were saved from being burned.
However, the cause of the fire and whether there were any human casualties remain unclear so far.
