Kabul – The foreign minister of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, has warned of the military presence of the United States in the region, calling on the neighboring countries of Afghanistan not to permit US military base and NATO on their soil.
Lavrov in the second meeting of foreign ministers of neighboring countries of Afghanistan said in Tehran on Wednesday, (October 27) that the US and NATO intend to have a military presence in the neighboring countries since the withdrawal of Afghanistan.
Sergey called on the neighboring countries to avoid the military presence of the US and NATO on their soil.
On the other hand, the terrorists are trying to infiltrate Afghanistan’s neighboring countries. According to him, terrorists use the cover of refugees to do this, and enter Afghanistan’s neighboring countries, the Anadolu news agency quoted Sergey Lavrov as saying.
The Russian foreign minister stressed that conditions must be created for the survival of Afghan citizens and that the return of Afghan refugees to their country must be prepared.
Sergey blamed the US and the international community for the current chaos in Afghanistan and said, “The people who turned Afghanistan into this situation must take responsibility. It seems that the time has come to start trying to raise funds for financial, economic, and humanitarian aid to Afghans.”
The second summit was held in Tehran on Wednesday, (October 27). The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, and China; however, the Taliban were not invited to the meeting. At this meeting, the participating countries emphasized the formation of an inclusive government and called for humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
