Local sources say the Taliban have arrested Saleem Sameem, the principal of Sham-e Hedayat School in Dasht-e Barchi, Kabul.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Wednesday, August 19, that Saleem Sameem was arrested the previous day at around 10:00 a.m., along with the school’s guard.
According to the sources, the reason for the arrest of the school principal and guard remains unclear, and there is also no information about where they are being held.
The sources also said that a person who had spoken to the media about the incident was subsequently threatened.
According to the sources, the person was also subjected to insults and humiliation during the threats.
This comes after an explosion occurred a few days ago outside the private Sham-e Hedayat School in Mahdiya Town, Dasht-e Barchi.
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) also announced that at least 42 children were injured in the explosion.
