The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice of the Taliban has reiterated its stance on women’s beauty salons in the country, urging owners to discontinue their operations.
On Saturday, February 24th, the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice of the Taliban issued a written notice to all proprietors of women’s beauty salons, granting them one month to cease their activities.
The directive explicitly warned that failure to comply with the order would lead to legal repercussions.
Simultaneously, the ministry has called upon county councilors to assist in identifying women’s beauty salons.
This development follows a previous decree by the Taliban approximately seven months ago, mandating the closure of such establishments.
Amidst the Taliban’s resurgence in Afghanistan, the group has imposed stringent restrictions on women, including directives targeting various aspects of their daily lives.
