Local sources in Wardak province report that as a result of an explosion caused by a leftover landmine from the Taliban, one child has lost his life, and another child has been injured in the province.
Sources from the province state that this incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, May 24th, in the Shaniz village of the Sayed-Abad district.
As a result of this event, a 12-year-old child has lost his life, and a 10-year-old child has been wounded.
According to sources, this landmine had remained in the area since previous years, during the conflict between the Taliban and the security forces of the previous government.
It is worth mentioning that the presence of active landmines in various parts of the country, planted by the Taliban, poses a threat to the lives of citizens.
Earlier this week, in a similar incident in the Qarah Bagh district of Ghazni province, a man was killed, and a child was injured.
