Julia Parsi, a women’s rights activist, has been released from Taliban captivity after approximately three months, according to informed sources.
Sources speaking to the Hasht-e Subh Daily confirm Parsi’s release on Monday, December 18. Some women’s rights activists have also verified Julia Parsi’s freedom from Taliban imprisonment.
Fawzia Kofi, the former member of the People’s Representative House of Afghanistan, wrote on her X page: “I am sure that your imprisonment has strengthened your will and that of your comrades for a stronger struggle.”
The Taliban have not commented on this matter.
On September 27 of this year, the Taliban had detained Julia Parsi, one of the women protest leaders, along with her child, from their home in the Qala-e Fathullah area of Kabul city.
The Taliban have previously detained and imprisoned women protesters, suppressing their demonstrations and gatherings.
