The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) says it is providing maternal healthcare services and psychosocial support to assist women affected by floods in Nuristan.
The organisation wrote on its X page on Wednesday, July 29, that women affected by the floods are receiving assistance to overcome the difficult situation through health and support services.
The United Nations added that these services are being provided in cooperation with its partners and with the support of the United Kingdom and the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA).
The assistance is being provided as recent floods in Nuristan have caused significant damage to families, particularly women and children.
Hamidullah Fitrat, the Taliban deputy spokesperson, had previously announced that at least 24 people were killed and 85 others injured as a result of the recent floods in Nuristan.
