The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) says it has provided support services and basic needs assistance for women who have been deported from and returned to Iran.
The organization reported on Thursday, June 18, that returning women from Iran have access to psychosocial support services, safe spaces, and hygiene kits.
UNFPA said these services are aimed at helping women meet urgent needs and cope with the challenges resulting from forced return.
The organization added that many women, after being deported and returning to Afghanistan, face economic problems, a lack of basic facilities, and difficult living conditions.
UNFPA emphasized that the program is funded by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), and its goal is to help women regain stability, preserve human dignity, and access essential services.
