After approximately 21 hours of negotiations between the American and Iranian delegations in Islamabad, Iranian media reported that US “excessive demands” caused the talks to end without a result.
The ISNA reported on Sunday, April 12, that the talks were intensive and that during the 21 hours, several texts and proposals were exchanged.
Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance said that the negotiations ended without any outcome.
He left Islamabad for Washington following his remarks.
Additionally, Esmail Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the Iranian delegation negotiated in good faith and defended Iran’s values and interests during the talks.
The American delegation stated that they had presented their “best and final offer,” but Iran did not accept it.
Pakistan hosted the negotiations, and it remains unclear whether the talks have fully concluded.
