The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that malaria remains one of the common diseases in Afghanistan, affecting many families, especially children.
The organization said on Saturday, April 25, 2026, on the occasion of World Malaria Day, that awareness-raising and timely action can play an important role in reducing the disease.
The World Health Organization said, “With early diagnosis and timely treatment, lives can be saved. Together, we can build a malaria-free future for our communities.”
The United Nations (UN) has added that malaria is more widespread in different parts of Afghanistan during the hot and rainy months of the year and is transmitted through mosquito bites.
The World Health Organization has emphasized that recognizing early symptoms such as fever and chills can help families seek timely medical care at health centers and receive the necessary treatment.
