Sources confirmed that an adult man committed suicide in southern Kandahar province.
The suicide attempt took place on Wednesday (December 7th) in a house in the vicinity of Yarana Market on the outskirts of the 4th police district, Kandahar city.
The 50-year-old man, identified as Mohammad Zahir, ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling.
The motive behind this suicide attempt is not known as of yet. But it has been reported that Muhammad Zahir was suffering from mental disorders.
Local Taliban officials have not said anything about this news.
In the past recent months, the suicide rate has increased unprecedentedly in Afghanistan, where poverty is considered one of the main factors.
