Ali Reza Bigdeli, Iran’s chargé d’affaires in Kabul, says cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan in the transit and logistics sectors, particularly in the use of the Chabahar and Bandar Abbas ports, has expanded.
Bigdeli said on September 26 that Afghanistan had introduced a representative to Iran to follow up on matters related to the Chabahar port, adding that talks between the two countries on the issue are continuing.
Through the Chabahar port, goods from Afghanistan can be transported through Iran to international waters and then by sea to India.
The port is also used to connect Afghanistan and Central Asian countries to markets in India and other international markets.
Bandar Abbas is also one of the maritime routes for transporting goods from various countries, particularly India, through Iran to Afghanistan.
