Following the failure of the Istanbul talks, Asif Durani, Pakistan’s former special envoy for Afghanistan, has said that the only solution to the deadlock between the Taliban and Islamabad is the continuation of dialogue.
In a post on X on Saturday, November 8, Durani wrote that even if the negotiations reach their 30th round, they must continue.
He emphasized that neighboring countries should not respond negatively to dialogue, as doing so would serve the interests of the “enemy.”
“Neighbors should never say no to talks; this is a lesson from history,” Durani added.
The former Pakistani envoy made these remarks after the third round of talks between the Taliban and Islamabad in Istanbul failed.
Both the Taliban and Pakistan have confirmed that the negotiations concluded without results due to differences in demands and a lack of mutual understanding.
