Former ANDSF Member Missing After Taliban Detention in Herat
A Taliban-arrested former intelligence director from Herat province’s Farsi district has gone missing.
Nearly five months ago, Taliban Intelligence Forces abducted Sultan Ahmad, the former intelligence chief in Farsi district of Herat province, according to Hasht-e Subh.
As for Sultan Ahmad, a relative said he fled to Iran after the Taliban took over the country, but returned after some time to Herat.
Despite approaching Taliban authorities in Herat numerous times, his family members have not received a response.
There have been no comments from the Taliban on the detention of this member of the former Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF).
Reports of ANDSF members being unlawfully tortured, imprisoned and killed by the Taliban are published every day. The Taliban, however, have continued to persecute them despite criticism.
