Local sources in Khost province have reported that the Taliban detained three employees of private radio stations in the area. Confirming the incident on Tuesday, April 23, sources revealed that three producers of entertainment programs from different local radio stations were transferred to the Taliban’s security command center after being summoned by the morality police. These media workers were detained for broadcasting music and making phone calls to women during their programs.
As of now, the Taliban in Khost province have not issued any comments on this matter. It’s noteworthy that the Taliban had previously warned local media in the province against allowing women to work in the media and broadcasting their voices.
Simultaneously, while the Taliban were blocking the gates of Noor and Barya TVs in Kabul a week ago, these three local media workers were detained by them in Khost.
In a separate incident, Habibullah Taseer, a correspondent for Radio Azadi in Ghazni province, has also been detained by the Taliban, and his fate remains unknown.
