Local sources have reported the crash of an Indian passenger plane in Badakhshan province.
According to information obtained by Hasht-e Subh Daily, the incident occurred on the morning of Sunday, January 21, in the Tap-Khana mountain of the Zibak district, Badakhshan province.
The Taliban have also confirmed the crash of the aircraft.
Bakhtar News, reporting under the Taliban’s authority, has identified the crashed passenger plane as belonging to an Indian company.
However, Zabihullah Amiri, the head of information and culture for the Taliban in Badakhshan, asserted that the passenger plane crashed due to “technical problems.” He mentioned that a team had been dispatched to the site to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
As of now, there are no reports of casualties resulting from this aviation accident.
Indian authorities have yet to provide any comments on the matter. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
