The Israeli army says it has launched a large-scale operation in the “Shaqif” heights and the “Wadi al-Salouqi” area in southern Lebanon.
Israeli army Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee wrote on X on Sunday, May 31, that the operation began several days ago.
He said the operation aims to destroy Hezbollah infrastructure built under “Iranian guidance.”
According to the spokesperson, Israeli forces crossed the “Litani Sea” and expanded their attacks against Hezbollah further north.
Adraee also added that Israeli forces are operating near Nabatieh and are “prepared and ready to expand the attack if necessary.”
This comes after Lebanese and Israeli delegations, with US mediation, recently agreed to extend the ceasefire for 45 days.
