In response to recent statements by Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, the National Resistance Front has stated that lobbying for the Taliban is against the interests of the Afghan people and will be fruitless.
In a statement released on ُTjurday, April 20, the National Resistance Front emphasized that international organizations and regional countries should stand with the Afghan people instead of ignoring the crimes of the Taliban.
The statement from the National Resistance Front reads, “Lobbying for the Taliban is a futile and counterproductive endeavor that goes against the collective interests of our people. We expect regional and international organizations and countries to stand with the people of Afghanistan and refrain from turning a blind eye to the crimes of the Taliban, and instead engage with the people and give them opportunities.”
The National Resistance Front also accused the Taliban of inhumane behavior, including shooting prisoners, refusing to hand over the bodies of victims, and prohibiting funeral prayers for them, which creates more grounds for popular uprisings.
It should be noted that the reference in the statement is to the recent war between the Taliban and the Freedom Front, in which the Taliban handed over the bodies of some victims, including Akmal Amir, to their families after a week, and the people were also prevented from performing funeral prayers for him.
The National Resistance Front has once again called on all anti-Taliban forces to unite against this group.
The National Resistance Front has criticized the approach of international organizations and regional countries toward the Taliban, with the latest case being Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, announcing the upcoming meeting of countries to negotiate the recognition of the Taliban in Qatar.
Amina Mohammed’s statements about recognizing the Taliban, which she claims would make them responsible, have faced harsh reactions in Afghanistan.
