Local sources in Ghazni say the body of a Taliban fighter who was killed in clashes with Pakistani forces in Paktia province has been transferred to Ghazni.

The sources confirmed to the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Sunday, October 18, that the fighter was killed the previous night during clashes with Pakistani forces in Zazi Aryub district of Paktia province.

According to the sources, the Taliban fighter was identified as Ghauth Rahman and was a resident of Qarabagh district in Ghazni province.

He was buried in Fateh Khan village in the district.

Taliban fighters and Pakistani border guards clashed yesterday afternoon in the border areas of Dand Patan and Zazi Aryub districts of Paktia province.

Both sides claimed to have inflicted casualties on the other.

The incident comes amid repeated clashes between Afghan and Pakistani forces in border areas, with both sides previously reporting casualties on the opposing side.
