Sources in Takhar province say that the Taliban are attempting to carry out operations against the positions of the National Resistance Front (NRF) in the Warsaj district of Takhar Province, northern Afghanistan.
Local sources in Takhar province told Hasht-e Subh that Qari Fasihuddin, the head of the army staff of the Taliban, is leading the operation of the Taliban against NRF forces in Warsaj district.
Qari Fasihuddin is now in the Farkhar district of Takhar and has deployed hundreds of troops to attack NRF camps and positions in Warsaj district.
Sources say that now 300 Taliban fighters have gathered in the city of Farkhar and Tangi Warsaj, and the Taliban in Baghlan, Badakhshan and Kunduz provinces are also expected to join them.
Sources say that NRF forces are also preparing for a heavy battle in Warsaj district of Takhar. NRF forces are equipped with night vision equipment and advanced weapons.
Qari Fasihuddin has recently visited Takhar province to lead the Taliban war against NRF forces. According to sources, he could not achieve much success in the war against the NRF in Khost district, Baghlan province.
