Local sources in Faryab report an incident involving the targeted shooting of a woman in the Almar district of the province.
Sources on Tuesday, December 26, reveal that Taliban fighters gunned down a 28-year-old woman in front of her children in the Almar district.
According to the sources, the Taliban accused the woman of escaping from home, subjected her to a kangaroo court, and subsequently shot her.
The victim, a mother of two, had a husband working as a laborer in Iran.
As of now, the Taliban have not issued any official statement regarding this incident.
It is worth noting that the Taliban have previously subjected citizens of the country to kangaroo courts on various charges.
In a recent case on December 21, the group accused a former government soldier in Samangan of “harassing the people and engaging in gambling,” leading to his targeted shooting.
It should be mentioned that since their return to power, the Taliban have consistently faced accusations of human rights violations.
