Sources say that the Taliban group is mobilizing fighters from Herat province in order to deploy them to Panjshir province.
The Taliban regime has ordered its district governors in Herat to mobilize a specific number of fighters from different parts of this province for reinforcing its fights in Panjshir province.
On the other hand, a source from the ranks of the Taliban, speaking on the condition of anonymity, also confirmed that the district governors of this group in Herat have received an order from Kabul to send 500 fighters to fight in Panjshir.
Based on the reports, 30 to 70 fighters have been requested from each district so as to fight against the National Resistance Front (NRF) forces in Panjshir.
Another source in Herat has said that the Taliban have mobilized forces from some religious schools for this purpose.
This is not the first time that the Taliban group has been trying to fuel ethnic tensions by deploying fighters from one part of the country to the other part of the country. The fighters being recruited in this way are all civilians with no clue of why they should fight their countrymates in the other part of the country.
Previously, the Taliban had sent fighters from the western provinces of the country, including Ghor and Badghis, to fight against the NRF in Panjshir.
