The Taliban government has recently dismissed all public health directors in 34 provinces.
The dismissal letter was sent to the provincial public health departments on December 27.
The letter states that after this, the previous directors of public health are not authorized to sign documents and do not have any salary or privileges.
The Taliban did not provide a specific reason for the decision, saying only that the reason for the changes was the recent “developments” and “conquests.”
The Ministry of Public Health has also nominated new directors affiliated with the Taliban to replace public health directors in the provinces.
Meanwhile, some former public health managers told Hasht-e Subh that most of the public health chiefs appointed by the Taliban were unprofessional.
According to them, the people appointed to these positions have been appointed only on the basis of affiliations with the Taliban, and this is a great persecution of the country’s medical personnel.
Earlier, the Taliban fired all heads of courts and judges of the previous government and appointed their own candidates.
