Local Taliban officials in Ghor have reported a devastating incident, where a rockfall from a mountain claimed the lives of seven members of a family in the province.
The tragic event unfolded around 2:00 AM on Wednesday, April 3rd, in the vicinity of “Kharnaj-e Wakil Neiaz” in the Chahar Sada district of Ghor.
A reliable Taliban source confirmed to the Hasht-e Subh Daily that the victims of this calamity included women and children, intensifying the scale of the tragedy.
Chahar Sada district, nestled amidst the rugged terrain of Ghazni province, has unfortunately witnessed similar occurrences in the past.
Just last year, on October 23rd, another heart-wrenching incident took place in the “Laka-Mazar” area of the Dawlatyar district of Ghor, where a mountain slide claimed the lives of four individuals.
The recurring nature of such incidents underscores the need for heightened awareness and preventive measures to safeguard the lives of residents, especially in mountainous regions prone to geological hazards.
