Local sources report the mysterious murders of two women, aged 35 and 45, in the provinces of Faryab and Balkh.
In the initial incident, unidentified gunmen targeted 35-year-old Golalai on Monday, November 20, in the village of “Asiab Ferqa” in the Chemtal district of Balkh province. The assailants, armed with firearms, brutally assaulted her in front of her children and husband, followed by a barrage of gunfire.
Taliban sources stand accused of involvement in this incident, asserting that the group executed Golalai under the pretext of “moral corruption.”
Meanwhile, sources in Faryab report that unidentified gunmen opened fire on a woman in her home in this province.
This event occurred on Wednesday night, November 22, in the Pashtoon Kut district of Faryab province.
The motive behind the murder of this woman is not yet known.
The Taliban have not commented on these two events thus far.
It is worth mentioning that two days ago, the lifeless body of a 37-year-old woman, shot to death, was discovered in the Almar district of Faryab province.
It is noteworthy that mysterious murders of women in the northern provinces of the country have seen a recent increase after the Taliban regained control. Citizens of the country accuse Taliban members of involvement in such events, although the group consistently denies the allegations.
