Kabul – By the end of two days of negotiations between the Taliban’s acting government and the US delegations in Doha, two sides have agreed that the US humanitarian aids would also continue to Afghanistan.
On Monday, October 11, Mohammad Naeem, the Taliban’s spokesman at political office in Doha, said that in the process of this negotiation, the US has committed to provide facilities for other humanitarian foundations to collaborate in providing aid for Afghanistan.
In the meeting, it is emphasized not to connect humanitarian aid with political issues, according to him.
In the process of the negotiations, the Taliban have stated that they will work with charity foundations in a transparent way so as to deliver aids for people in need.
In talks, efforts have been made that the diplomatic relations must return to their “good status”, and it’s emphasized that this kind of meeting should continue in the future, according to him.
The US Department of State, however, mentioned the issues which have been discussed, and it hasn’t stated agreeing on specific points.
In the process of the meeting, the US delegations have focused a lot on terrorist concerns and the safe passage of people, according to Ned Price, the US Department of State spokesman.
The human rights, the meaningful partnership of women in the society, and providing direct US humanitarian aid have been discussed in the meeting, Ned Price added.
He has described the discussions as professional. Also, he has stated that the US will judge the Taliban not only based on their words, but also by their actions.
On Monday, the meeting started between two sides in Doha, and it continued for two days.
This is the first meeting between the US and the Taliban since the fall of Kabul.
Earlier, the US had said that it would continue its humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
