The Afghanistan Media Support Organization (AMSO), in a statement, congratulated The Hasht-e Subh Daily on its 20th anniversary and praised the outlet’s role in informing the public and safeguarding professional values.
In its message published on Friday evening, May 22, the organization described Hasht-e Subh as one of Afghanistan’s leading, independent, and influential media outlets, stating that the continuation of its work under the current difficult circumstances reflects its commitment to truth and the professional principles of journalism.
The statement noted that two decades of media activity in Afghanistan, a country where freedom of expression and journalism have consistently faced threats and crises, represent not merely a period of work, but “a history of defending truth and professional values.”
The Afghanistan Media Support Organization added that after the Taliban’s return to power, Hasht-e Subh has still managed to continue operating in exile and covering developments in Afghanistan.
The organization emphasized that the newspaper’s continued publication in exile proves that “the voice of the Afghan people and the path of enlightenment cannot be silenced.”
Part of the statement said that despite numerous challenges, the Hasht-e Subh team has continued to play an active role in reflecting the realities of the country, exposing human rights violations, and addressing corruption.
In conclusion, the Afghanistan Media Support Organization expressed appreciation to the officials, managers, and journalists of Hasht-e Subh for continuing their media activities under difficult conditions and voiced hope that the outlet would continue its professional work.
Hasht-e Subh was established in 2007 and, over the past two decades, has been widely active in news reporting, feature stories, investigative journalism, interviews, analysis, and special coverage focused on women.
