Nasir Ahmad Andisha, Afghanistan’s ambassador to Switzerland, says Afghanistan’s diplomatic missions at the United Nations are working to defend the rights of the people, particularly women and girls, and uphold the country’s international commitments.
In a post on X on Saturday, October 24, marking the 81st anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, Andisha wrote that the organization represents more than magnificent buildings and continuous meetings for them. Rather, it is a stronghold for defending the values enshrined in the UN Charter.
He added that Afghanistan’s diplomatic missions are standing against the erosion of people’s rights and the neglect of the country’s international commitments.
Andisha said Afghanistan’s diplomatic missions in New York, Geneva, Vienna, Paris and Rome are the voices of a people whose commitment and struggle have not been silenced despite Taliban rule.
