Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and the European Union’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas held a telephone conversation on regional developments.
According to Tasnim News Agency, reporting early on Sunday, July 26, the latest regional and international developments were discussed during the call.
According to the report, Araghchi condemned an attack by Ukraine on an Iranian-linked vessel in the Caspian Sea and called for a strong response from the European Union.
The report added that both sides stressed the need for diplomatic initiatives to manage tensions in the Gulf region.
The conversation comes as reports have emerged of diplomatic efforts by regional countries to end the war between Iran and the United States.
