Afghanistan’s power utility, Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS), under Taliban control, has reported a meeting between its officials and Murad Artikof, head of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) project.
The company said on Saturday, September 19, that the meeting focused on progress in the 500-kilovolt electricity transmission project and its implementation.
Breshna added that the project will enable the transmission of a greater amount of electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.
The meeting also discussed the completion of the Noor-ul-Jihad substation in Herat province, supplying electricity to Bala Murghab district in Badghis province, and implementing several other projects.
Afghanistan imports a significant portion of its electricity needs from neighboring countries, with Turkmenistan being one of the country’s sources of electricity.
