Britain has tightened its travel advice for its citizens visiting Iran, warning of a high risk of a sudden escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
Al Jazeera reported early Wednesday, October 28, that Britain issued the warning in an updated travel advisory for Iran.
According to the report, Britain has also extended its security advice to citizens planning to travel through the region.
In the update, the British Foreign Office described the situation as “highly unpredictable,” replacing its previous description of “unpredictable.”
Meanwhile, the United States has reduced the number of non-essential staff at its diplomatic missions in regional countries due to the high risk of an escalation in regional conflict.
In recent days, speculation about renewed US strikes against Iran has also intensified.
