Following more imposed restrictions in Kandahar city, dozens of residents have been arrested and tortured by the Taliban rebels for shaving their beards and hairstyles.
Speaking in an interview Wednesday, sources said that the Taliban’s security members in Kandahar city took into custody more than 50 young men who had shaved their beards or because of their hairstyles and imprisoned some of them.
According to sources, the Taliban have said that they had received an order from their supreme leader Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada to arrest those who shave their beards or style their hair.
Prior to this, the Taliban detained many residents of Kandahar because of their short beards or because of the shape of their hair.
Meanwhile, the Taliban’s Department of Vice and Virtue in Kandahar city has recently imposed strict restrictions on the people, as well as it has banned playing and listening to music in this city as well.
