Muhammad Sadiq, Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, says he discussed the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan during a meeting with the newly appointed representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Pakistan.

Sadiq wrote on his X account on Wednesday, November 4, that he had met with Noriko Takagi, the newly appointed representative of the UNHCR in Pakistan.

He added that the two sides exchanged views on the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan and major challenges on the ground.

According to Sadiq, the importance of strengthening international cooperation was also among the issues discussed during the meeting.

The meeting comes as Afghanistan faces multiple crises and a difficult economic situation, with millions of people in the country in need of humanitarian assistance.
