Mohammad Abu Afash, the director of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, has said that more than 350,000 patients in Gaza need medication.
Al Jazeera reported on Saturday, August 22, that the medicines and medical supplies entering the Gaza Strip are insufficient to meet patients’ needs.
According to the report, Abu Afash said that if medical aid is not allowed into the Gaza Strip, the health situation will become extremely difficult.
The Gaza Strip has been under a severe land and sea blockade by the Israeli military since October 7, 2023, when the war between Hamas and Israel began.
The United Nations had previously warned that Palestinians living in Gaza were facing severe shortages of drinking water.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military has prevented UN humanitarian convoys and countries seeking to deliver aid from entering the Gaza Strip.
