Iran’s mission to the United Nations has dismissed reports that its negotiating delegation was expelled from New York as baseless, saying the delegation left the United States according to its planned schedule.
The mission wrote on X early Thursday, October 1, that the delegation’s travel schedule had been communicated to the U.S. Department of State in advance.
Iran’s UN mission accused the U.S. Department of State of spreading “baseless and worthless” reports.
The statement came after Axios, citing a U.S. official and a source in the U.S. Department of State, reported that the Iranian delegation had been ordered to leave the United States by the U.S. government.
Iran’s UN mission rejected the reports, claiming that the U.S. Department of State, which it said had achieved no results, had resorted to spreading “baseless and worthless” reports.
