Lebanese sources have reported that the Israeli army set fire to a government hospital in the town of Mays al-Jabal, in the Marjayoun district of southern Lebanon.
Al Jazeera reported early Saturday, September 19, that Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health described the Israeli army’s action as a “brutal crime.”
According to the report, the Israeli army had been using the hospital as a military position before setting it on fire on Friday.
It remains unclear whether the incident caused any casualties or how much damage was inflicted.
This comes as Lebanon and Israel reached a framework agreement in June this year, mediated by the United States. The agreement includes the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory and the deployment of the Lebanese army in areas vacated by Israeli forces.
